Here’s a snapshot as to what’s going on in January…
Our Youth will continue collecting canned goods for Mary’s Kitchen...understanding the words of Jesus when He said—For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat...I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me (Matthew 25:35 and 40).

A special HURRAY for our high school graduates (Spencer Harrison, Taylor Keene, and Taylor Sheppard) as well as our college graduates (Bailey Hardy, Hilary Hardy, and John Sutton)! We are so very proud of each of you! Our prayer is God would bless you richly in your future endeavors in becoming the men and women He designed you to be. Not only will God bless you because of your faithfulness, He will cause you to be a blessing to others!

God is good! We hear that many times because it is true. At Deep Run we are blessed in many ways…tangible and intangible. One of those tangible ways is through the scholarships we have within our church. We have two available for graduating seniors who are members of our church. They are:
1. Iris S. Aldridge Scholarship
2. Joseph F. and Nannie H. Tyndall Scholarship
Applications can be downloaded below or just ask Pastor Dave for a copy. All graduating seniors who are members of First Baptist Church, Deep Run—you are encouraged to fill out either application or both. Remember, all applications are due Pastor Dave no later than our Homecoming Sunday…the third Sunday in May, which is May 15th of this year.
Please don’t wait until the last minute to complete these or any other applications. Our scholarship recipients will be recognized during our Graduate Recognition Sunday (June 5, 2011).
