Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
Each year we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850—1938) when we give to the annual offering for North American missions named after her. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of mission efforts throughout the world. Annie Armstrong led women to unite in mission endeavors that ultimately led to the formation of Women’s Missionary Union, for which she served as the first recording secretary.
Every penny received from all Southern Baptist Churches goes directly to those who have surrendered to God’s Call—taking the Gospel Message within our own continent. With each passing year it seems we are losing ground…our population is ever increasing yet we are experiencing fewer conversions. Did you know only 25% of North Americans are saved?
Those men and women who have given up the comforts of home, family, and friends need our support through giving money and our prayers! Through our support our “Home” missionaries know they are not alone as well as the realization we care and appreciate the work they do for God’s Kingdom.
Church, not all of us can go, most of us can give, and all of us can pray. I know you will do as God leads you—thank you for being obedient and for being a blessing to those we may only meet in heaven!
Mission Trip - 2010
In a word—SUCCESSFUL! I believe all were pleasantly surprised by the work we were able to accomplish, the camaraderie we shared, the loving spirit displayed, and the appreciation for our own blessings.
Beyond that, I believe it is more blessed to give than receive (Acts 20:35). Everyone had a satisfaction and fulfillment in the work we were able to accomplish.
God has blessed us with so very much and it is good to recognize many of those blessings are meant to be shared...time, talents, and tithes! Shared for His glory that others may benefit and be drawn closer to our Lord. Our Mission Team did that. And Church, without your support, prayers, and encouragement it would not have happened. Thank-you for making these experiences a reality for all who wanted to be involved!
I believe our Father is pleased and I believe the effects will be far reaching—Praise be to God!
